2004 ES 330 cd head unit replacement
I was thinking about replacing the base cd head unit with a used Mark Levinson system with GPS. I would also have to replace the bezel. Does anyone know if this would be a plug 'n play install or would a special harness or antenna for the gps be needed?
Any help would be appreciated

There is a navigation antenna in fact I think there are two of them, in the roof maybe? As for wiring compatibility check out this link, click the red rectangle. As you can see there are different wiring harnesses depending on the stereo/nav unit.
tldr; don't think it will be plug n play

Can anyone tell me if the factory harness for the base cd head unit fits a used factory Mark Levinson GPS head unit? Would I need to install a new GPS antenna and be faced with a lot of re-wiring different harnesses?. The cd doesn't work because one is jammed inside but using a Bluetooth adapter that broadcasts the the fm radio has dent sound. I wojld love the Mark Levinson system with the gps but if it is going to be difficult I will have to settle with my current base system. If anyone has any tips it would be very much appreciated.
I already replied to the first thread you made. Are you a bot?

I have a 2005 ES330 with the Factory Navigation and it's not great. I don't think it would be worth the money/effort to retrofit the factory navigation into your car. You'd be much better off buying a brand new aftermarket head unit with Android Auto/Apple CarPlay. The factory nav unit is pretty dated and lacking in features. Not to mention if you're buying a used head unit and want to use the disc functionality, who knows how worn that system is or how reliable it'll be in the long run. For navigation, I personally find that using Google or Apple Maps via Android Auto/Apple CarPlay to be a better overall experience than any factory navigation systems I've used.
To go back to your original question, at the very least you'd need to add the GPS antenna. That's not part of the wiring harness and is a separate cable all together. The 20 pin looks to be the same. I plan on replacing my factory nav unit relatively soon. If you still want to go the factory nav unit route, we can compare and contrast our wiring to give you a better insight on how much work you would need to do.
