Average fuel fill on "empty"..?
I think that I figured out the reason why there is a difference between what your ES manual says and what the link that you provided says.
Your link saying that the fuel tank capacity is 15.9 gallons is for the 2019 ES. The manual for your 2018 ES says 17 gallons. Evidently, the 2019 ES has a smaller fuel capacity than the Generation 6 ES.

With all due respect, you shouldn't be letting your gas tank get to the point you would even have to ask that question...it's not good for the car and you are risking being stranded somewhere...so for the sake of your cars well being, and your own, don't drive until you have a warning signal.

The manual for the 2019 ES says 16.0 gallons, consistent with the website:

I guess they did shrink the fuel capacity on the Generation 7.
