Default New tint!

Went with 5% rear, 20% front, 5% brow, 5% sunroof. Looks a hell of a lot better than the 17 year old tint they took off. Old stuff was Llumar (dyed), new stuff is 3M SolarShield

new tint. Last pic is old vs new.

This happens if they don’t know what they’re doing but I know sometimes it’s just unavoidable. Pretty sure it’s done with for good if it happens I specifically found a shop that will keep the car all day to try and save them when removing the old tint.

I took my old tint off and put 5% all around within weeks of getting my baby. I can’t stand people looking in and the sun blinding me. I never thought about the sunroof because I look looking outside through it at night haha.

unfortunately the only solution is a rear glass replacement.

I cant justify that expense. would be manually wiping it down if needed.

how did you prevent that from happening in your 17 year old tint.

They removed it with a steam gun and a heat gun, but even then, it is a 50/50 shot. None of my lines are broken though, so they all should work...

In theory...

I think the “better” method involves trash bags and letting the car sit out in the sun for a while. Summer is actually the best time to get tint because of that and because the heat seals the tint faster.

Very nice, I’ve used a steamer on 4 of my own cars and have never had an issue with the defroster lines not working afterwards

Looks good, but show us the finished product.

Yeah, my rear defroster bit the dust with a tint re-do.

I will when its done drying, still got a day or two left till its laid down nicely. Its not summer so it doesn't dry as fast.

as I understood when consulting with a few leading tint places, this is virtually inevitable, sadly.

also sad, I can’t have tint. Emperor Cuomo made it part of ny state inspection, so 350 miles away, I have to bare with New York City laws
