Whirrr from drivetrain
Just got my 07 ES and love it. With 110k on it. Only thing that I notice is a low level whirring noise that rises and falls with road speed, as I've heard in differentials on other cars..du u think that just comes with the mileage, or am I in for a bearing failure? Not a believer in forever sealed trannys. Just sayin.
Could be normal and a noise you just have to get used to with a new to you vehicle. I have heard this complaint many times from folks right after getting a new vehicle.
However, tires are the most likely source of your noise, especially if they have some wear on them. Did you get a pre-purchase inspection? If so they should have noted any issues.
If you did not get one, it is a good idea to have the entire vehicle inspected now by a good, honest independent mechanic who specializes in Toyota's as this is the same as a Camry under the skin.
It may be a good idea to have the transmission fluid changed. A complete fluid exchange is usually a couple hundred dollars and best done by a dealer due to the complicated fluid level adjustment.

Yeh thankyou..that transmission is pretty controversial where fluid change is concerned. Local lexus dealer says it's time for the 280 buck flush and fill at 109k. But, but I so want to do it myself. 104 to 113 degrees..ok.
