Summer/all season/ winter?

Go go to tire rack.com and you can read user reviews, ratings on all the tires.

I chose Michelin Pilot Sport 4 for summer and Bridgestone Blizzak LM001 for winter. Both top rated.

Thanks for your replies. I was looking at the Michelin Defender T+H that seems to have pretty good reviews. I think it's a new tire from Michelin and from your replies, it seems I can't go wrong with the Michelin brand. Now to find a good deal on a set.

Yes, Michelin is a good tire company. The type you mention is a lower end tire, so you’ll probably get what you pay for. Saw some reports of reduced fuel economy. Only a guess but to get the higher mileage rating, probably a stiffer tire with less grippy rubber. Not listed on the tire rack site, so no reviews there.

I would go with either MIchelin or Perilli's.... I put perelli's on my car ( cinturato p7 plus all season ) and so far no complaints. But I am also a fan of michelin.. either one you'll be good to go.

I put in the Pirellis on my car a few months ago and one thing I have noticed is that they still smell strongly of rubber when I enter the garage in the morning!

I thought they were a bit noisy in the beginning and now either they have quietened down after a bit of wear or I got used to it. They sure feel more grippy after the Bridgestones.

The only two tires I would consider are the Pirelli Cinturato P7 Plus (like these so much I put them on my LS with only 340 miles on it), and the Michelin Premier A/S. The only reason I would choose the Michelin is if I had to have Michelins.

I'm so pleased with the Pirellis on the LS I don't even tire shop anymore, I just buy a new set of them. They'd be equally great on an ES. Very smooth, soft and quiet.

They do keep their rubber smell come to think of it LOL.

They do also quiet down after 800-1000 miles break in. Mine are about as quiet as a set of tires possibly could be,

Just put new wheels and tires on my 17 ES, and I got the Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season Plus, still need more miles on them to break them in but they are very nice.

I hear a lot of good things about the Nitto Neo Gen. It's kind of cheap though. Can it really be worth the hype?

I just replaced my Pirelli Cinturato P7s with Michelin Premiers. I liked the Pirelli’s a lot at first, but after about 25k miles, road noise was high and wet traction was becoming a major issue. I left them on for about 30k and just replaced them with the Michelin’s.

I replaced my Michelins at 47K miles with Sumitomo W Speed Rated, 94 Load rated tires from TireRack. They were about $85 each. I know what you are assuming, but I have used these many times before. I drove Jags for years, all of which were very tire sensitive. Used different Pirellis, which were factory originals, all of which were poor to say the least , P4000, P6000, P410's, PZeros. I tried the Sumitomos with great success. In particular I have found them to be: 1) Easy to balance, 2) Do not flat spot 3) do not trammel, 4) Never had an instance of radial pull, 5) Never had a problem after a flat repair 6) Never required a lot of weight to balance.

I find these good in the wet also.
