Default Side Mirror Replacement

I have a 2013 ES350 white color with blind spot monitoring side mirrors. I was backing up my car and my driver's side mirror hit a pole and chipped off the black plastic piece on the side mirror along with a little bit of the white part. The mirror works fine including the blind spot monitoring, but there is cosmetic damage. Is there a way to replace just the housing or do I need to replace the whole thing. Also, are there any places I should look to get it cheaper if I have to replace the whole assembly.

My suggestions:
1. First, please prevent water from seeping in since the seal is broken and there is electronics behind for the sensors and motor
2. The two pieces (white and black seal) appear independent. This is similar to my 2015 es and must be separately replaced. The piece that broke off of the white part will require the entire white piece to be replaced. You should be able to reuse the mirror itself and sensor and motor assembly.
3. I suggest to make a deal with an independent mechanic, if you do not want to repair yourself. Buy the part yourself online at lexusparts and ask the mechanic for a quote to install only. Mechanic might say that the warranty from him may not apply, in which case my suggestion would be to take that chance. That would be the least costly alternative. If the total exceeds your deductible on comprehensive insurance, then you should get money back from insurance.

I did something similar a few months back (passenger mirror corner hit a wall as I reversed and wasn't paying attention)...VERY EASY FIX. No need to involve insurance or even taking to a shop. If your turn signal wasn't damaged, you're looking at about $120-130 and about 15-30 minutes.

I ordered the painted section (make sure to order the right color) and black portion (part # 8791A-76070) from http://Lexuspartsnow.com

Here's a link with pics on how to take the mirror apart and put it back together: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...light-led.html
This would be a good time to change those dim puddle lights to a brighter LED one.

Thanks DanZ and dcar, I order the two parts for around $200. I'll try to change to led lighting as well since I will be opening up everything.

It is very easy to do, don't sweat it.
I just took mine apart to do the LED Swap.
You can find youtube videos to help. The mirror pops out easily don't force it.
Then all you've got is 4 screws and it all comes apart

I did similar damage, but only the black part broke. Is the black part attached to the painted part called the cover? Just making sure because it shows the painted part in the picture of the part, and it comes in colors. My car is blue, yet this part is black. But maybe some other years models that piece matched the car. Thank you!

The black part and the painted part are two separate pieces.

Thank you, I did know that they are two separate pieces. I’m trying to confirm the name of the black piece. Is that called the cover?

It appears that the painted and black parts are both called the cover and the part number as mentioned above (part # 8794A-76070). This is for the earlier model years like 2013, 2014, 2015. not sure if the later model years have the same part number.

Actually I just checked Lexuspartsnow.com and all 6th gen ES model years have the same part number 8794A-76070. then you have to choose the color.

I am not able to figure from the website (Lexuspartsnow.com) if black cover & the outer color are part of single part numbers. Is it bundled item or have separate part number(s)? I need only the outer "color" part not the inner black part.

I'd love to know this as well. When I changed the puddle lights to LED, I accidentally dropped the cover on my driveway. Needless to say it was very unforgiving and its scuffed and scratched pretty bad. I'd love to just replace the black outer shell .

My car is a 2014. I bought part # 8791A-76070-J1 for $118.73 including tax. It’s called the cover, and I received three pieces. I only needed the inside black piece, but I don’t think that piece is sold separately.

Okay then its single part with 3 pieces. Can you elaborate or post pictures of the part in case if you have before your install? Are the 3 pieces are like, a body colored cover, a black cover and one more ??

Mine has already been installed. One piece was the outer shell that matches the color of the car. The other two were black plastic pieces for the inside perimeter of the outer shell piece. Sorry if my terminology is basic - I’m not a car person! But I broke the black plastic part of this mirror and I was told that the whole mirror had to be replaced. I found this info and tutorial, and my son did the installation. So my mirror was fixed for the cost of the part instead of over $1,100.00 as quoted by a repair shop and a dealership. My son said it was an easy fix, and the hardest part was finding a screw that he had dropped on the driveway!
