Default ABS code 26 & 26 and interchange questions

Lexus newbie, just scored a clean 97 ES300. Over 200k, but seems solid. Brake, ABS, T/C and check engine light always on. Was surprised to learn about bulb monitor system. Rear light out. Fixed, warning still on. Fluid ok, parking brake switch seems to be solid. No obvious wiring issues. CEL is a knock sensor. After looking at intake, I think it's just going to retard my timing for a long while. Awful to get to.
But my big question is the ABS issue. I subscribed to the Alldatadiy. The Lexus manual knocks the bottom out of the GM service version. Several steps outlined for use without Lexus shop equipment. About to spend some time with ohm meter going over some ABS pump and controller suggestions. Code 25 and 26 come up with the paper clip in terminal test. Is this a common code to come across? If so, is there a failure point systemic to this model?
Other big question. If you search car-parts.com with interchangeable parts, it shows that Avalons, Camarys and Soleras with T/C will be ABS pump and controller donors. Could I be this lucky? Spending $50 and an hour at the local U-Wrenchit then bleeding the system sounds like a pretty sweet deal.Shows 97 to 2001 will swap.
Oh, and could the brake warning light be tied into the ABS failure? I've done quite a bit of semi high tech shade tree stuff, but never with a newer Lexus. And 97 is new to me.

Thanking all in advance for reading and suggestions!

Pat

Default Wow!

This is like over a hundred man-hours invested in troubleshooting. I'm thankful and humble to take advantage of this resource.

And thanks for the quick response. Wouldn't have thought to check alternator output. Will eliminate that first
