side view mirrors led bulb replacement
I have a 2013 ES300h and have replaced all interior bulbs with led's. Also did my wife's 2015 RX450h. Love the brighter and cleaner more modern look. I have read post where members have replaced the puddle lights with led's but have not seen directions. Has anyone done this? Is it easy to do with no risk of messing up anything? What bulbs did you use because I read somewhere that one directional bulbs should be used so it just shines down?

Puddle lights as in the bottom of the doors? Or the lights in the side mirrors?
For the door lights, just pry apart the plastic lens, remove the light assembly and open it up to change the bulb. Any T10 LED will do.

It's a heck of a job - you'll have to use a lot of force to pry the mirror glass away from the housing, unscrew the inside casing and remove the bulb assembly. Took me an hour to do both sides and I sliced a finger. Any T10 LED will do but a sideways-firing one should put out the most light.

It's actually easy once you pry the mirror off the first tab. You need a lot of force wedged at the right point, I used a screwdriver wrapped in a cloth to do this. It almost feels like you're about to snap the mirror in half.
Once the mirror is off, removing the casing screws and pulling out the bulb is easy. Make sure you use a short bulb as a long LED may not fit. Reassembly is also easy, the mirror goes back on to the tabs with a firm shove. It's a moderately difficult mod overall but the results are worth it. Yellow side lights and white LED interior lights don't really match

You're actually better off using a plastic pry tool that comes in a kit for interior door and dash panels, etc., for the mirror removal.Cost about $6.00 and very useful. I used it to change all the interior and trunk bulbs.

I use these LED SMD on the door panels and they work great. These are very bright and they are designed to project straight down onto the ground as oppose to a wedge bulb projecting 360" light.

For the interior, I have VLEDs 5ks LED and these matches them perfectly.
I too want to do the mirror puddle lights but I will very likely end up breaking something.
