Default Dialectic grease on MAF connector?

I notice a light film on the MAF electrical connector. Is this possibly dialectic grease?

Don't know about that but you don't want dielectric grease on there unless you want a shorted MAF sensor and a fried ECU.

Why? I would think dielectric (non-conducive) grease would be perfect in this application.

It probably is. I put some in there when I service similar connectors, though honestly these particular ones are quite tight connectors and not prone to getting wet (unlike, say, transmission connectors underneath an SUV, etc). I would not rush out and buy the grease for only this purpose is that's what you are wondering.

Sorry guys. Thought you were referring to 'conductive' grease. Even with such, it will not short any wiring that comes in contact with it so I'll take back what I said earlier. Dielectric is perfectly safe to use but overkill for electrical connectors.
