Keys go back to the smooth plastic vs the cheap rough plastic

Same here...so it doesn't really matter what plastic texture they use as long as they keep including the leather key covers. I wonder why they decided to print the fob info in the front now.

The key covers make my keys too bulky in my pocket.

Let's hope Lexus doesn't go the BMW route and make the key the size of a small phone. All the features in that key could be put into an app rather than carrying such a big fob. Not to mention, it probably needs to be charged once in a while.

This key is for the upcoming revised 7-series and i8.

I wish Lexus would make the card key standard feature on their cars. It seems like they are phasing it out.

Now that's a BIG key fob. Looks like one of those old Motorola Razr flip phones in the photo.

Why would I be joking? Carrying two smart keys on a key ring in my pocket is bulky enough, the leather cover makes them even bulkier.

I can see the two fobs being bulky. Guess the LS and Sedona key fobs are naturally bigger than the ES fobs. However, I've found the small leather covers add minimal bulk to my personal key fobs.

The Sedona fob is pretty small, but the LS has (inexplicably) a much larger and heavier key than the rest of the Lexus cars. Even when I had the GS though, I felt like they were too bulky with the covers on.

I've been posting on Lexus forums for ~15 years. ]lPeople have been whining about the spindle grill for years, before that it was the L-finesse styling. People always hate change, and most model refreshes draw more hate than love. The proof will be in the sales. If sales take a dip, they may change course, I'm betting that won't happen though.

I've been a spindle grill fan, for me its getting a little much though as it gets even bolder. I like it on this ES actually, and I like it on the F Sport NX and the new RX, but I don't care for the implementation on the refreshed GS and I'm not sure about the new LX.
You know, I’m not sure why you would characterize a persons personal opinion about something to be considered Whining as you put it.
I had a 2007 ES 350 Ultra Luxury Edition and currently have the 2013 ES 350 also an Ultra Luxury Edition.
I don’t totally hate the design of the New 2016, but I must admit when I first saw it I really felt like they went way too far, the Grill is a little much and the triangle like chrome around the fog lights is just way too trendy looking (that will get old pretty quick).

I look at the new NX and again, I think Lexus has completely lost there damn minds, and the trendy silly floating roof on the RX that everyone seems to be copying from the BMW i8 is just stupid looking.

That is not whining my friend, That is the Personal Opinion, Lexus started out making Really Nice Exquisitely Crafted Affordable Luxury Automobiles and now they are attempting to be Hip and Sporty (and Not Doing a Great job of it if you ask me), of course again, That is just My Opinion!!!

Why would you reply back to a thread that hasn't been posted in since August?

People do a lot of complaining about change on this forum, they ALWAYS have. You should have heard the complaining about your 2007 ES when it came out. And guess what? Sales have always told a different story. The NX is selling quite well, and I'm sure the new RX will too. I was just at the dealer tonight dropping my LS off for service and got to really take a good look at the RX and refreshed LX, I think they look great, especially the LX.

I'm sure just like every other time people have whined about change we will see that sales show they know what they're doing.

I got to sit in a very nice 2016 ES and have a 2015 ES loaner. The 2016 is a HUGE improvement over the 2015 IMHO.

The new front grill was deciding factor for me why I am not getting an RX. On a new ES IMO it does not look too ugly...

I LOVE the Card Key for my LS600hL, and I agree completely! I never carry keys, and as long as I change the Card battery once a year, I never have to worry about being locked out. Wish all Lexus cars came that way!
