Mine are the same, mind telling me which fuse and where it is? Because I don't think both motors would go out at once. Could be a bad switch.

I would check the switch. Probably unlikely. I had 3 cars, 235k, 150k, and 124k with no switch problems yet.

Unfortunately it is not as easy as the master power window switch to diagnose.

If you find the problem I would love to know.

just bought my 2000 ES300 Platinum a week ago, with only 46k miles!!!

Discovered the mirrors don't work when driving from home!!!

Already checked/changed the 2 Power outlet 15amp fuses inside the driver's side dash, even tried changing the mirror/heater 10amp fuse, to no help.

Opened the outer fuse box and checked the 10amp "ECU" fuse, read that this controls the memory, it was not blown.

Everything works in my car memory seats, all lights can't figure out why the mirrors don't work!!!

Opened up the mirror switch but the contacts doesn't look worn...

Default Success!!! Fixed my mirrors!

Alohaman, I fixed my mirrors today!

Let me share with you my troubleshooting steps.

1) Checked the 2 (15)amp CIG fuses and 1 (10)amp Mirror Heater fuse in the inner fuse box under drivers dash.
2) Checked the ECM 10amp fuse in the outer fusebox next to battery. (this controls the ECM for the memory module).
3)Removed the Mirror switch and tested for continuity per Service manual, my switch checked out. Though I was in doubt and ordered another switch from ebay scrappers.
4) I read in other Lexus forums that people had similar issues in a LS400 and SC400 and the repair was the Mirror Memory Control Module.

At this point After testing fuses and testing the Mirror switch everything pointed to the Memory Module.

Found a few on eBay, and bought one for 30 shipped.

Here it is with the spare mirror switch I ordered.

Received it today and attempted to install it.

The lower dash removal was similar to the 4th gen Camrys that I'm used to, (we've had 3 4th Gen Camrys)

I found the location of the module while peeping under the lower dash cover, my eBay seller also confirmed the location at the middle of the dash.

Pulled the lower cover and found the module but a lot of obstructions without removing the entire lower dash cover and metal bracket.

I managed to remove it by removing the bolt and nut holding the right metal bracket blocking access to the nut holding the module in place. Once the nut was out I moved the bracket out of the way.

unplugged the memory module and removed the nut holding it in place.

slid the Module out.

Here's the good and bad memory modules:

one on the left is from a 2001 from an ebay Scrapper one on the right is from my car.

Anywho, got the replacement module back in used some paper to hold the bolt on the socket so it wouldn't fall while trying to install it.

re-plugged my mirror switch and Viola! Success! mirrors move again!

Seat Memory works with the Mirrors!

$30 Memory module +$25 switch (didn't need it) =$55 fixed my mirrors myself.

Grin on my face.... Priceless!!!

Bought the car like this (I didn't check when I picked it up) bugged the hell out of me! So I had to fix it.

cool, you're very welcome just a coincidence I guess that I had the same problem just when you posted about it. Was your problem the Memory Module Control Box?

I opened the box of my original one but couldn't find anywhere that looked burnt or damaged. maybe this is a bad batch? Mine is an May 2000 build Crystal White Platinum Edition.

The replacement was from a 2001 supposedly, so maybe they rectified the problem in the later builds?

But you would think if this was a common problem there would be more posts about it huh? Strange, but Glad it worked out!

I had a slow battery drain (12 volts down to 10v in 4 days) on our 2000 ES300. Found that the drain was coming through the 10Amp fuse labeled ECU-B. Took the car to Lexus dealer to find where the drain was going and found that it was the Mirror Control Module behind the dash. I bought a used ECM on E-Bay for $30. I need to replace the broken ECM but don't know how to access that area. Any pictures/suggestions would be welcome. I don't intend to remove the broken ECM but instead just tie wrap the replacement unit to the old one.
