Lexus asks for $507.15 to replace CV Boot
They said my inner and outer boots need to be replaced. I am clueless on CV Boots.
It is a 2007 ES350 w 75K miles.
$507 seems a bit high, but what do I know? Comments? Suggestions?

Do you have the lexus extended warranty? I had an issue with mine and had it replaced by the extended. They just couldnt bill it by just the boot as they can only sell it by the whole assembly.
Seems like you have one of those dealers that is trying to nickel and dime you. Id start going to a different dealership. You shouldnt of even had to argue with the dealership to cover the boot. If the repair needed an alignment to be included it too should be done without fee. WTH is right.

I've got a complaint with the warranty company filed. Lets see what happened.
This problem has been address in the LX 470 forum and it works if the the CV boot is only slinging grease from the ends. Will not work if the CV axle is making noises and/or the rubber boot is ripped....Here goes, A special TOOL can be purchased for about $25 to tightened the existing clamps OR (the method I used) stainless steel radiator hose clamps can be placed over the existing clamp and tightened.. Take care to NOT cut into the rubber boot. These clamps can be bought at the local parts store. The size I used was 1" to 1 3/4"...Having the car on a lift makes it easy to assess. . Four clamps are needed to do both cv axles. Hope this helps
