Default Seat Heater Timer?

First trip with the new '14ES and the wife noticed the passenger seat heater seemed to stop working after a while. Checked the on-line owners manual and no mention of a timer there (just the steering wheel timer). Searching the ES forum did not bring up the answer either but some other models apparently have seat timers. Anybody know the answer?

If you are driving with the Driving Mode Selector in "Econ" you are changing the operation of the HVAC system and other loads such as the seat heaters.

Yes, I believe it was in Eco mode when the seat heater was turned on (and then went off), so that might be the reason it stopped.

I was rather impressed with the mileage on my first tank of gas, 33.2mpg calculated over 388 miles. Somewhat favorable conditions, mostly level highway miles, 65ish mph, 50F and a few miles of tailwind.

This is a configurable setting: whether you want the seat heater to automatically turn off after some time or not. I think if it's in automatic mode, it only turns off when the AC is in ECO mode, but I may be mistaken. In any case, you can configure this setting (as well as 10s of other settings) with Carista for Android. This particular setting is only available in our beta version 2.1, which you can get here: http://www.caristaapp.com/beta/

I think it automatically shuts off after a certain time or temperature. This happens with my RX with this feature.

Yes, that's correct, but you can disable that behavior if you wish.

So does that mean Carista or Techstream can disable that too? I'm not too sure if that's really a good idea with the problem some people are reporting about their seats.
