Default Vacuum Line Broken... question

I noticed that the vacuum line that connects directly to the vacuum switching valve on my airbox has broken (plastic piece broke into hose, hose disconnected)... I ordered a new valve and as it stands, it's disconnected. What effect would this have on the car? I know the hose connects directly to the charcoal canister. My car is currently experiencing other issues but I was curious what a disconnected line would cause? It's circled in the yellow/orange circle...

Thanks

Pretty sure the charcoal can catches unburned fuel vapors. As long as you can start the car it shouldn't be a big deal, except those gases will be released under your hood into a hot engine. I'm not exactly sure, but that doesn't exactly sound good, flammable gas + extreme heat. Someone else may have a better answer. Also, depending on your model year you may check over at ToyotaNation. Some of the 300's have the same engine as the same year Camry/Avalon/Solana and that forum is much more active.

Ah, this makes sense. The intake sucks in the unused vapor that's not absorbed by the charcoal and recycles it into the engine... at least that's what I figure. Thanks for the info!
