I have a 2013 ES 350. Last night about 5 hours after the engine had been turned off, we noticed a strange niose comming from under the rear of the car? It sounded like a small electric motor was running. I started the car and turned it off. THe noise had quit. This is actually the second time this happened.

Any Ideas?

I got under the car to try and determine the exact location of the noise, It sounded to be comming from the gas tank area.

Could it be a fuel pump kicking on?

I have heard this noise on my 300h. Good to know what it is.. I learn so much on this forum..

A few days after we purchased our car my wife said she heard a noise in the garage. I went to check it out and thanks to CL members I knew exactly what it was.

 

I have heard humming from the front of the es300h while parked in the garage with lights still on and was little worried.
Thanks to this forum, now i know its because of HID lights and could be also coming from Fuel evapo leak check.
