Added the bolded part to be more accurate.

How much does that supercharger kit cost, and is the cost worth it to make only 240-250 hp? Seriously, 250hp is a joke performance wise. 4 door V6 grocery getters are making more than that stock. Who are you going to impress pouring thousands of dollars into a car that will still get beat by a stock Nissan Maxima?

Please note that I'm talking about *performance* mods, not appearance. If you want to put money into suspension and wheel modifications, it's as fine for this car as any other out there.

As a couple of the posters above me stated correctly, anything is possible to challenge the impossible. This is true, but it takes a LOT of money and effort to do it when there are other platforms that take a lot less money and a lot less effort for much better results. To the OP, how much money do you actually have to make performance modifications on this car that actually matter?

Now, I'm not going to dictate what you think is worthy of putting time and money into. That's for you to decide. I'm just sharing my life experiences of me putting time and effort into a platform that frankly wasn't worth it when I could have been saving up for something else that was worth it, instead. That's all.

Of course, ANYTHING is possible if you sink enough money into it, but there are far better more cost-effective platforms out there for building a fast car.

Now, I'm going to make some assumptions for my next part, so my apologies if I'm off base:

I've noticed a good chunk of the "how do I make my ES go faster" threads on here are from younger people who were either handed down their ES by their parents, or just didn't have a choice in what car to get (then again, if someone could afford to buy their own used Lexus, they probably could have purchased a faster car instead, but I digress) - and as a result, are wanting to make the car that they're 'stuck with' better.

My honest, 100% non-snarky advice: don't. Just don't and save your money instead. This is not a performance car platform. It is a refined luxury car platform that is designed to provide a plush, quiet ride in comfort. The money required to actually get any performance out of it that's respectable just isn't worth it.

Instead, SAVE your money for a car that is a better performance platform. Buy said car. and then go nuts making a true 'go fast' car even faster. I'm speaking this from experience in my life, looking back on money I wasted on cars not worth wasting mod money on (not my last car, though, that one was worth it) and realizing that I could have put that money to much better use on a better platform.

Just my 2 cents.
I'm just browsing threads and read this post...had to tell you... Well said!
