Question Programming the turn signal

Anyone know how to change the number of flashes for the turn signal when using it to change lanes? (ie flick it up almost, but right before, the first click and let go [borrowed from the Germans] ) Factory has it sets to 3 flashes, I remember reading this can be changed to 5 or 7 and would like to change it since 3 is not enough for how I drive.

The manual says the car owner can change it, but there are no settings to allow you to do that. I addressed this with the dealer and they confirmed that they have to change it.

Love the 3 blinker lane change feature.Wouldn't mind a 4-5 blinker change.
BMW has had the 3 blinker for years and my son's '13 Elantra has it.

I also want to change the lane blinkers to 5. I recall reading somewhere where the dealer will make make the personalized changes on your 5K service for free. Are there any other changes you'd have the dealer make?

When I took delivery of my vehicle, I was given a list of options the dealer could adjust. Changing the 'blinker' option is not on the list. Although you can have the 'volume' of the blinker changed (default is medium). Higher end models like the LS allow the driver to change the option through one of the menus.

One of the features I like is the ability to open all the windows and sunroof by holding down the unlock button for several seconds. This feature must be dealer programmed.

Are you sure?
Because on the '12 ES I had, unlike earlier years, the sunroof and windows did not open with the button. The dealer had to change the setting.
It's snowing out or I'd try it on my GS.
I actually don't want that opening feature.
i will go with a 5 blink set up with next service visit.

I didn't get a list when I bought mine. Is the customizable list somewhere out on Lexus' website?

I don't see anything on changing the 3 blinker number.

Nope, it doesn't appear to be an option. But it could still be programmable like the seat belt warning chime...just not advertised.

I remember seeing a reference to it in the online owners manuals as a owner setable value. The valid values for the number of flashes is 3, 5, or 7. Now if I can just find the link to the manuals again..

Both my older GS400 and RX300 (10+ years) have this feature. By holding down the unlock button for 2 seconds, all the windows and sunroof open as long as you hold down the unlock button. Comes in handy on hot days and you need to open the windows before getting in, or open just a little to get some air flow. But no remote to close them. You need to get into the car and manually raise the windows and close the sunroof.

That's the way it was but now as you can see here
http://www.lexus.com/pdf/service/ES_LPS.pdf

in #28 and #30,it has to be programmed by the dealer to have windows and roof open.
My neighbor sat on his key fob somehow and the roof and windows opened and it was raining.
I had the feature in a few Lexus models but never used it.
