Opinions welcome (thinking about doing things different)
I posted last week about chrome filming my lower trim.
I actually took the panel off and realized I liked the look better without the trim and was thinking of directly applying the film to the lower door.
First I would have to bondo the holes, sand them... but I think it will look better and give it a "recessed" look, what do you guys think?
I'd go chrome strip or leave it stock. The vinyl is too thin.
If you do what you want to do,there will be a gap at the bottom. It's going to take more than filling in the holes. You would have to fill in the whole area to meet the bottom rocker. So the bondo or fill matches the rocker like your back door does now or you're going to have the rocker sticking out from the door which is ugly,IMO.

I think that's what he likes. He likes the look of the indention by removing the strip. He just wanted to fill in the holes so that it doesn't look like its missing something.
IMHO, i agree with Joeb though. Either chrome the strip or leave it stock.
I actually don't mind the gap between the rocker panel and where the door meets, it's takes the roundness away from the bottom of the car...just a matter of taste, thanks for the input.
If you look at the 2010 ES, the chrome sits on top of the plastic trim. The rear of the trim meets up with that seam in the rear tire well, you should create a template and cut the silver vinyl to the template and adhere it to the vehicle in order to recreate the chrom look on the 2010 ES
great feedback everyone...I think I'll just cover the trim with chrome so it's stock. @Blueshark the painted trim is'nt that hard to remove the problems is the clips....once their removed, the clips are useless. No way of salvaging these without breaking them. I suggest ordering through the dealer and have them handy when your ready to go. Once you have the clips (new) your going to put them in the trim and slightly tap both the clips and trim back into place. I had to use pliers to pull out my old clips...
