speedometer stopped working over the weekend. took the car to advanced auto for diagnosis, says i need speed sensor A, on the transmission case near the starter. i found it, pulled it, but it does not resemble the part they showed.... what gives? location is right, i thought. i can replace it if i can find it.

 

it is indeed usually the vehicle speed sensor that goes for problems like this. try finding one in a junkyard since it is a very rare thing to break.
