I have a 2007 ES350 with the premium package. The OIL MAINT REQD message appeared on the screen between the RPM and MPH dials today while I was driving. My oil has recently been changed and the car is running fine. How often is oil maintenance required and what is the procedure for removing the oil message? Thank you.

 

Where ever you had the oil changed should be able to perform the reset for you but you can do it your self. Any Lexus or toyota dealer can also perform this for you. The details are described in the manual but in a nutshell follow these simple steps.

1. Press the on/off ignition button with out starting the car, place the odometer / trip meter in either trip A or trip B.
2. Turn car off
3. With the driver's door open, press and hold the trip button, while continuing to press the trip button press the On/Off ignition button.

You should see a read out in the odometer as follows "-------" Continue to hold the trip button and each dash will disappear one by one. When they are all gone the maintenance reminder has been reset.

The oil change interval is 5K miles.
