Does the motor run but the antenna doesn't come down? If so, the gears are probably stripped which is a common problem with power antennas. My only advice would be to open up the assembly in the trunk and see if you can manually turn the gear that lowers the antenna.

Try pushing down on the antena as someone turns the radio off. The teeth on the antena cord are probably stripped at the bottom. If so, you'll need to disassemble the antena motor to remove the broken pieces. I'm sure the motor is ok.

if the antenna is broken then i say might as well keep it up or else u might not get much reception. if u are just annoyed by the noise of the motor whirring every time u try to work the radio, get to the trunk, take off the trunk side wall lining on the right side, and reach your hand in. try to feel around for a connector plug that goes into the antenna motor. there should be one or two. since you would most likely need a new antenna motor it doesnt matter which one u unplug, but try and unplug the one that is near the right front (i think) if front means toward the engine and rear means toward the trunk.
