Side view mirror repair help...
So my daughter went out to use the ES300 and the driver's side view mirror was tweaked. Somebody or something hit it and now it just flaps in the wind, instead of being held in place. I'm talking the whole flag, not just the mirror inside the flag. I believe it is normally held in place internally with a spring?
Does anyone have and disassembly and/or repair instructions, or can point me to a link on this site?

1. pull the tweeter cover away from the door and then lift up.
2. You will see four 10mm bolts
3. Remove bolt holding tweeter in place to see the other two
4. Remove all four and pull mirror away from door
5. Flip mirror upside down and remove two philips head screws
there is no spring, it has its own mounting base, but once you have this done you will definately see what the problem is. Maybe it just popped out from the mounting base. Good luck!

Thanks for the directions zajac - they are spot on. After I got the mirror off, I pulled the side cover from the mirror to see inside. There is a very stiff spring which sits around the post assy the mirror/flag rotate on. On top of the spring is a washer and a clip which keep the spring compressed, thus providing tension for the mirror assy. The clip has popped off, leaving the spring uncompressed and the flag free to move about. The tiny confines inside the mirror don't leave any room to get the spring compressed and the washer/clip back on. It doesn't help that the spring is waaaaay stiff - quite a pain to compress. I guess I'll be looking for a junkyard replacement... Very easy to take off and put on the entire flag though. Thanks again!
