CD Changer Questions
Good morning, guys~
I have a little problem with the in-globe box CD changer on my 99 ES300.
At first, it plays CD tracks just fine but as it moves to the middle of the disc, (usually starting from the 5th or 6th track) it starts producing noise behind the songs. And it sounds like it has something to do with the spinning of the disc for the noise is in constant interval. The noise gets worse as it plays outer tracks, and I can't even play the last couple of songs.
I tried playing original discs as well as CD-R or CD-RW discs. Also tried in all 6 slots, but still the same.
I'd like to ask you guys some questions regarding this matter, hoping some of you have had similar experiences, and possibly some solutions.
1. Anyone had a problem like mine? How did you solve the issue?
2. They are asking several hundred dollars to replace it.
Can I use after market CD changers, without replacing the harness?
3. If so, any recommendations on brands and models fitting there?
4. With the after market changers, can I play mp3 files on the discs?
5. If there are no solid answers for the changer, I'd just buy a new receiver.
Anyone using Metra 99-8155? How does it fit?
6. Any other ideas, tips or advices?
Thank you so much for the help in advance...

Just buy a used CD changer on ebay. I just now looked, and there are more than a few for $64 (plus $10 for shipping). And you can make an offer less than $64.
Just go to ebay and type this in the search box:
es300 cd changer
