Default CD changer noise - how to disable?

2004 IS300. My CD changer has not worked for years. Now when I crank the car, it makes a horrible vibrating noise for about 15 seconds, then stops. Is there a way to unplug a fuse or something to kill power to the CD changer, but still allow the radio to play? Thanks.

I took mine apart. The problem is the gears that move the trays inside there wear out and don't engage properly anymore..... or that was what was wrong w/ mine. A new unit is extremely expensive and used units will be in similar condition to yours. There is a company that makes a mount that fits your car's center console and can use aftermarket stereos but I wasn't happy w/ the reviews of the fitment.

In any case, you can take yours apart and remove any of the gearing that's in there to move the trays, it's not that involved to do. It won't fix the problem but it should stop making noise that way.
