problem with my lex
hi every 1 im new to this forum and need some help. ok heres the situation. I just bought a 1993 lexus es300 and the head gasket went out a couple weeks ago. i just changed the head gasket the other day and had the head reshaved and did the timing and also did a tune up. it was running good for a couple days. then its started sputtering, white smoke started coming out of the exhaust and when i rev it up it dies out but when i start it up again it starts right up. can somebody please help me. it's driving me crazy
Whats up 808.. Have you changed your oil since you fixed the gasket? if not, check the oil dipstick with a white rag to see if your oil has a green tint. When the head went, coolant may have mixed with the oil, or there's currently not a good seal on the gasket u have now. I have to switch the heads on my 95 and thats how i found out my head gasket had to be replaced when i smoked up my jobs parking lot without doing a burnout. I would suggest an engine oil flush b4 you go back to you mechanic to rip him a new one.. Hope this helps.. Do u know if there's a thread on how to do the head gasket repacement on here?
yeah i had it changed right after the head gasket was replaced. thanks for the help though and sry i have'nt seen a thread on how to do the head gasket replacement. but if i find one i let u know.
