Recently my hubby replaced my passenger side headlight that went out. Afterwards I noticed that I can barely see in the dark on that side of my car. It seemed that the headlight was misaligned.

After reading the manual, I learned that the headlights can be aligned manually. But, when we tried we had no success. It seems that the alignment control (for lack of a better name) moves up and down, but the bubble inside the level won't budge.

The manual says to bring it back to the dealer with alignment problems, but I know it'll be cheaper to do-it-ourselves. Can anyone tell me how to either repair or replace the level inside the headlamp assembly on a 1993 ES300?

I havent came across this problem b4 but suggest you try:

- Take it to a panel shop and just pretend to be stupid and ask for their help or to show you how to do it.
- Take it to a Lexus dealer and ask them to CHECK to see if it is still OK or some parts is broken or missing? (Dont ask them to repair... maybe quote how much for replacement).
-Keep checking back here often as this forum and the people in here are very helpful and will find a way to help you out.

I had the same problem with my ES. I had to remove the assembly, then turn the adjustment screw. I would then put the light assembly back into place to check the levels. After a few reps of this, I got it nearly dead on and then bolted it back into place. I then shined my lights against the garage door to double check that they were not shining too high.

Are you sure there is fluid in the level? My driver's side had no fluid! So I bought a new one.

 

It looks like there's fluid in there. Where did you find a replacement, and how much was it?

 

I think we'll have to try that. The uneven lighting is driving me crazy!!
Ummm...where's the adjustment screw?

 

I bought a DEPO brand - you might as well buy both sides, as you will never get an old one to look like a new one! Got mine from AmericanMotorParts on eBay - $121 + shipping each, probably will combine shipping. Hope the headlight aiming attachment helps for your year model.

 

Also, make SURE you get the same brand - different manufacturers beams and looks are different.
