Scanner reader (help)
I'm not sure of any other scanners but the one you will need (that I know of) is along the lines of a Snap-on Scanner tool. At least an MT2500 with the required harness adapter for the toyota plug. It'll run around 400, give or take. I'm not sure, but some places may do free diagnostics... GL and welcome to CL!!
The 94 ES is OBDII, not OBDI. There is a port under the dash near the steering column.
The personnel at Auto Zone, Advance, et al, will probably tell you they can't read it if you tell them it's a 94. Tell them it is a 96 model.
