Cool Scanner reader (help)

I have a 1994 lexus es300 Do any 1 no where I can buy a scanner so I can check the code?I think this car is still obd 1.

I'm not sure of any other scanners but the one you will need (that I know of) is along the lines of a Snap-on Scanner tool. At least an MT2500 with the required harness adapter for the toyota plug. It'll run around 400, give or take. I'm not sure, but some places may do free diagnostics... GL and welcome to CL!!

If its just an infrequent thing, go to a local auto parts store (like Advance or Pep Boys or AutoZone) and they typically will read it for you for free.

The 94 ES is OBDII, not OBDI. There is a port under the dash near the steering column.

The personnel at Auto Zone, Advance, et al, will probably tell you they can't read it if you tell them it's a 94. Tell them it is a 96 model.

Harbor Freight has inexpensive code readers.
