When i start my 99 it acts kinda weird. It turns over then sounds like its gonna stall for a second then the RPMs go up to close to 2k for a few minutes. Is this normal? Most of the time it only does it if the temp meter is at C but it has done it at normal operating temperature after i come back and start it.

I don't know much about engines and how they work, but I do know that the idle is extremely high. On a cold morning starting up my Camry, the RPM's set around 700-800. With the A/C on full blast it's a little over a 1000. I know that my mom had a same issue with her GMC Yukon and she had to get the truck idleized (i'm not sure if that's what it is called, but something around those lines). I know somebody on these forums can give you better information than i can, but I hope that helped a little.

Cool

I started a search for "idle speed" since this issue sounds vaguely and recently familiar. Check these out and see if you don't find something relevant:

These are just a few that I found with search. You might try the same search and check the other results if you don't get what you need out of these.
