Default 05 ES 330 Maintenance Required reset

How can I turn off the Maintenance Required light (maint req) on an 05 ES 330? I reset it on the navigation unit but it still says it on the dash. Now that the free maintenance is up I'll do it myself. No $180 oil change for me! Thanks!

Youre mileage display has to be in odometer mode. With the key off, press and hold the SELECT/RESET button. Now turn the key to ON. Youll see the bars running across the screen and the light will turn off.

hey boys, I know this is an old thread, but I need help on this. It's the first time I have to get the light to go off on my own. Just to clarify the SELECT/RESET button is the little button on the cruise control handle right? And what bars will run across the screen? A bar will show up on the navi screen? Thanks!

No, You need to use the trip button on your cluster. Switch it till it says ODO, Turn the key off, Hold the trip button down and turn the key on, once the bars appear (-----), release the trip button.

A million thanks. Just curious-how do you know it's simply an oil change reminder, and not something actually wrong with the car/engine?

Yup, the Maintenance light is nothing more, just an annoying reminder to bring it to the dealer and get out your credit card. If something is wrong, then the Check Engine light comes on.

Thanks guys! As a first-time Lexus owner for about a month now it is a good feeling to have such a wealth of available knowledge at my fingertips. I was worried that light was going to cost me $...
