Default help!! lug nut stuck, need spare

As i pulled into a parking space front of my apartment a big flat screw just jams into my tire. because of rust I cant get the lug nuts off my aftermarket wheel. is it safe to use wd40 to loosen the nut? if not veggie oil??
just to make sure turn LEFT is to loose the nut, and RIGHT to tighten it right??
any help is greatly appreciated

yup, go ahead and use some WD40.......let it wick into the threads and start to loosen the lug nut. I have found that if you alternate between loosening and trying to tighten the lug, it will break free.......

Now, there is a chance that the lug is "cross-threaded" and stuck. If this is the case, then when trying to loosen th elugnut, you will end up breaking it off and will need to replace the stem bolt.

Good Luck!

Better yet use PB Blaster its meant to loosen up rust its what every shop uses to do that. Also when your done spray it on Styrofoam and watch what it does.

wow with the help of water and veggie oil it took a total of 2 hours just to get the rusted lugs and spacer off (the rusted spacer was harder to get off than all 5 lugs)!! never had/thought a flat is that much of a pain in the ***

before putting the spacer back on.....use some sandpaper and clean it up. Also, use the PB Blaster to soak the lugs in to remove the rust that has built up.

When's the last time you rotated you tires? If it's regular you shouldn't build up that much rust.
Glad to hear you got it off!!!

You might want to get a breaker bar for times like these, or rotate your tires more frequently like tonka suggests.

i do rotate my tires frequently, like every 3k at least. in FL it rains so frequently that rust can build up in a matter of days. also its very hard to turn a lug nut with rust using a wrench by hand, compared to the shop they use pressurized tools. I just dont feel comfortable soaking my chrome lug nuts in a chemical..........
