I was trying to enjoy a cruise to my local beach when my break light on the dash came on and the brakes almost felt like they had gone out. Bearly able to stop I was able to make it home now I have to wait until Monday to see what itll be. My ? is who knows what this is or has gone through this before
check your fluid it might just be low... however if your that low on fluid you should check for leaks at the calipers, and master cylinder, and you might just have worn pads... I would check the entire brake system
I filled up the reservoir and the brake light on the engine cluster turned off but brakes still feel like their out. I checked and I can still see some life left on the pads, what could be the problem

There must be a leak somewhere letting air in the system.
when you let the brake fluid run out you sucked air into the system. you'll have to bleed the system to get rid of all the air. might aswell do it until nothing but fresh fluid is left.
dot 3 or dot 4.
Start the car and have sombody pump the brakes several times and hold the pedal down and then you open the bleeder on the passenger rear caliper then close the bleeder before the pedal is let up... I always have who is helping me call out "DOWN" so I know when to open the bleeder and I call out "UP" so they know when to let up on the pedal... repeat until bubbles stop make sure the fluid in the master is full... keep checking the fluid level!!! move to the drivers side rear caliper and so on until you end up at the drivers side front...
