Question Lexus keyless entry programing...

I've got a 92 es300 with a key/remote that the remote does not work on. I only received one with the car so I can't tell if remote or car is malfunctioning. I have replaced battery in remote...didn't help. I've seen ads saying they can tell ya how to program new remotes to work on your car in a few minutes. Well question is: Can remotes lose their programing? How do I test remote ? Any ideals?

Your key will not lose its programming. Turn your radio on 94.9 FM and , while the key is still in the ignition (obviously) press the button on the side of your key. You should hear a frequency come from your cars speakers, if you do not you will need a new key and transponder chip, the chip is intalled inside the wireless door lock computer.

Default Thanks, do you know if thats the only...

setting (94.9 fm) I can try, that's a strong station here. Or should the remote be able to make a noticable difference? Thanks again.

You should hear the frequency regardless of the strength of the station.

isnt there a switch down by your feet, under the dash, is the switch turned on?

Lexus said for me to program a new remote they have to have the old remote to work from.. doesnt make sense, what happens if you lose your remotes and need a new one??
