Why does so many second generation ES300s have a dropping bumper? We all know, the area thats between the two lower fog lights.

I learned, when I had mine corrected, that there are clips holding the lower lip up in the section you're speaking of.

Parking space "stop bumps," curbs, speed bumps, etc. have a nasty habit of breaking those clips and/or loosening them on impact.

Once I got mine fixed, I NEVER try to find the end of a parking space by using the curb or stop bump. I just pull in a reasonable distance and stop. No lip-sagging since...

When I bought my ES that center trim piece was just hanging on by 1 bolt and 1 clip, so I just removed it all together. It actually looks a little better to me without it, keeping just the two side trim pieces.

Do you have any pics of your car with this removed?

I have a couple that I took a while back, but keep in mind that I need to repaint the whole bumper because it looks like crap now. Looks like the previous owner took it to joe blow's body shop who did the worst primer job ever. It looks even worse now (took these pics months ago), but I am going to repaint it after i fix some more important stuff first. Anyway here are the pics, I'll try to take some better ones soon cuz its kind of hard to tell its off on these.

Yeah...I'm still seeing a center piece here.

We ARE talking about the lower piece that runs side to side between the fog lamp locations yes?

oh i though you were just talking about the unpainted trim piece that runs along the bottom, not the painted part. i have actually never seen that part sagging on an es.. but it is pretty flimsy so i can imagine it happening.
