LOL the ghetto way can work really well if you know what you're doing. Just make sure you use a heat gun and be patient.

make life simple and just cut them. thats what i did. you really dont think that the rears are durable, but they are. im surprised myself at how durable the rears are. not to mention that it WILL take forever for the rears, as they are two pieces of sheetmetal. i cut all mine off.
be warned that if you dont heat it up right, you will start to flare your body panels. i did it by accident and said forget it, and had them cut off.
well,
goodluck

I did it in my last car the "good ol'fashioned way." Get a good solid wood bat and a close buddy you trust your car with. Have him on the gas and brake and put the bat up in between the fender and tire and slowly have him roll forward and backward while you carefully bend it upward till its where you need it.

Idk think how much you paid for your rims and tires to possibly screw it up with a "ghetto" roll job. It like about $150 to get it done right. I mean how much did you pay for your rims?

Definately not worth messing up your rims but i really wouldnt worry about the rims...its the fender and paint i would worry about. when your pushing on the sheet metal it can be some risky business to not mess up the quarter panel. All in all if your not mechanically inclined i would have some one do the work too.

it was actually kind of fun. we needed some heavy people for the rear so i asked my friend's parents to sit in the back seat.

i cracked the paint under the fender and had to apply touch up paint all over it but it's not visible to anyone. for my new car i'll definately have them cut and shaved.
