Default Remote Car Starter Kits

Just interested in adding this to my 95 es 300 and also if anyone has used these in their car. They range from $35 to $200 and I don't know if these will work on the es.

I paid $400 installed. I also got some of the add ons like the window module, and an extra LCD remote. I would have put it on myself but I couldnt find out how to bypass the factory alarm from anywhere. But I love the alarm its a must get if you're going to be modding your car. Its money well spent. It took my ride getting broken into first before I stopped being cheap and went ahead and got it done. Here's the website: http://www.autopageusa.com/t_inside....a-5f6fd435f2ac

Default remote

i recently installed the viper 791xv on my 96 es300, and its a great alarm. and i did intstall it myself it was fairly easy. its nice to remote start with the a/c on, when the weather like now its over 103 degrees outside. you can get a viper or clifford matrix 3.5 both for about the same price about 220. same maker dei.

I just got my remote starter kit installed today
However, i recommend a boycot of circuit city stores b/c their service is
I got the valet 561r, and it came with the remote start, trunk opener, and door locks. The Price was 59.99, and mandatory installation was 100 bucks!!!!
Whats worse, they charged me an extra 20 bucks to add power locks, and another 35 bucks to add the trunk opener. wtf (didn't get trunk opener)

Now, i try to remote start it, and the car alarm goes off!
BTW, they took 5 whole hours to install.

Agreed, Sound Advice does some good quality regarding installations.

If I could throw in my 2 cents from my experiences, here are what I'd recommend:

- Get one that made by Directed, eg: Viper, Python, Valet... They're proven reliable starter/alarm. If you want good remote range, compustar, seems to have good range. Compustar brain box is as good as Directed boxes, but their remotes are not as good. Crimestopper and Scytek are other cheaper brand and still work OK. I've had better luck with Directed and highly recommend them.

- Installing these are not hard if you do "your home work" carefully before connecting. But I highly recommend professional installation. Things that could take you hours to get done, pro installers can do it in minutes and do it much better. IMHO, it's not worth the time for you to do it to save $$$. When I say pro installation, I meant pro shops, not Best Buy or Circuit City. Find a auto sound and sercurity shop in your local area to have them do it.

- A good unit with installation will cost you somewhere from around $200-400.

Good luck
