well i put my springs on order and fixed my tires on my Axis se7vens. going to get it lowered next week with Tanabe NF210 springs. can't wait to get rid of the ugly front wheel well gap.

 

Get ready to loose your nice smooth ride after it's lowered. You'll also find out that the car will bottom out very easily when it's loaded with passengers. Visually, the car might look better, but I don't think it's worth it. I have never seen or drove a car with this type of modification being a 100% success. Good luck.

 

I wouldn't worry too much since you're using the NF210s. Tanabe's springs are some of the best engineered in the world. The NFs are specifically designed to not sacrifice ride comfort. Spring rates are very close to stock to ride will only be very slightly stiffer. Also, the drop isn't too dramatic so unless you're closest friends are international Sumo champions... I wouldn't worry too much about bottoming out. Just make sure eveything's installed properly and I'm sure you'll be very happy with the comfort and drivability of those springs.

 

yes, that is why im chosing the tanabe NF210. the spring rate isn't that much stiffer than stock. my car hardly EVER has passengers. i always the only one in my car, why do i like to drive a sedan, i have no idea. suspension setup can be done with success, once again its a preference thing. i would like to get some TEIN SS, but TEIN doens't seem to have any plans on making a kit for the ES330, but i've heard that they camry's kit will work, but i cannot spend that kind of money to test fit a product

 

How much are you paying for the Tanabe's, and where are you getting them from?

I was looking at getting some for my 99......but apparently TM Engineering has yet to be able to get some....

Just got my springs in pretty late from UPS, sat outside waiting for them. Going to get them put in tommorrow at Import Power House. They came with their own rubber bump stops.....

lol, yeah. i'll make sure the pics are in the bright sunny light of arizona. it doesn't look that low, but since the front is lowered more than the back, it now looks even, instead of having a HUGE wheel well gap in the front. it looks kind of like a stock sports coupe or something now

 

Just a question......Was it worth all the expense to lower the car this slightly? The reason I ask was because years ago, when a car was lowered a bit, especially in a modest/conservative type sedan, such as a Lexus ES, the car looked like it had sagging springs, instead of looking "cool". This is my biggest gripe about this type of modification on this type of car. I lowered sport coupes, but never on a 4 door sedan.....that just doesn't work for me, as far as I'm concerned. IMHO

 

i've had coupes, sedans. i lowered them all. my 02 v6 accord was lowered until there was no wheel gap in the front or rear. lookes very clean and keeps it closer to the ground. plus the front wheel well gap on the new ES is so friggin ugly. its so much larger than the rear, which to me just does not look right.
