Accerlation problem! Big time!
My car seems SOOO slow in acceration from 80-120 and from 140-160 km
ie from 50-75 mph and from 85-100 mph
I know the car is not fast, but it is even slower than normal times lol
For example, I punch it at 50 and it accerlates really really slow to 60 but then picks it up from 60-75
And if I punch it at 85, it will take FOREVER to get to 100 mph, BUT if I would have to punch the car at 75, then it would accerlate at a decent rate to 100 mph... ( ie. normal accerlation from 120-160 km/h)
So the car sometimes tends to NOT shift to lower gear or the approperiate gear and sometimes it just doesn't accerlate fast even when it goes to the lower gear!!!
oh boy, I have a headache from writing and reading this all at once...
So if any of u guys have encountered similiar problems or know of anyone that has and you got an idea of how to fix it, please feel free to help!
Thanks for your time!

Now to the question: The automatic transmission will NOT downshift if the cars speed is so high that it would cause it to go above redline. This safety prevents it from over revving and possibly damaging your engine.
Also, my friend is a State Trooper and he'd like to know where you drive the car at those speeds. heehee
In his profile it says '98 ES300.

I got a 99 Champeigne one

And I drive on the 401 in Ontario.
What else does he like to know?
I only follow traffic flow.
Believe me when I say that the traffic flow today, to London, ONtario, was averaging about 85-95 mph, ie 130-145 km/h
And it wasn't just 2 or 3 cars
More like 7 or 8 of them
But here is the deal:
Even when I floor my car, it will still accerlate VERY slowly. That is even after it downshifts; it will still accerlate slower than usual

I'll change the oil in 1000 km and see if that will make a difference...
Thanks for replies

I am having the same problem with my 94 ES300. What is up with that?
I have to change the oil in 500 km or 310 miles....maybe that has something to do with it?
I tested it out yesterday, not high speeds, but just up to 50 mph (80 km) and it seemed fine.
Like I would step on it at 60, and it will accerlate at nice pace to 80 or 90 km/h, quite a bit faster than it did before.
I had one lil problem though. While I was accerlating half throttle, the car seems to PAUSE a lil at 50 mph (80 km/h) at exactly 4000 rpm. I found that odd.
Anyone has any idea?
Other than that, it felt fine when I nailed it at low speeds. WAY better than what I have mentioned in my first post.
