Default 2016 model.

Searching for an ES. I stumbles across a article that suggestion the 2016 over the 2015 model. Claimed many improvements. Is this true. Or is the 15
just as nice, and looks the same?
Thx

2016 has improvements and refreshes. Buy 2018 with low mileage.

I have a 2016 but would not hesitate to buy a 2015. I drove many when buying (used) and the difference was minor to me because I never owned an ES before. IMHO the ride and driveability were the same. Essentially the same exact drivetrain. Folks who have owned both can tell you the upgrades. All I need is cruise control, hands free and a radio

Pretty good thread here;

2013 - 2015 were basically the same. 2016 - 2018 had a refresh with a few changes, but the "car" is the same: drives the same, shift, components, suspension, etc. 2019 changed the whole style in and out with a 2022 refresh.

I'm not a fan of the current eight-speed, so I'm waiting to see what they'll have in 2025 if they follow their 6-year pattern the last several generations.

13-15 had a noticeably cheaper interior. 16 is when they fixed that.

The real problem, however, is having to deal with the full-blown spindle grille nightmare on the 16+ instead of only the half-attempt on 13-15.

I kinda like the full blown spindle grille on my 2017. In fact just bought a 24 NX350h for my wife in April. Now that grille is even bigger.

Initially my wife wanted a 2015 due to the grill change in'16. She also wanted Nightfall Mica. We looked around for months at various dealerships.
When she saw our current 2016 ES350 in the color she wanted it was a done deal. No regrets, and no intention of trading it in soon.
