I have this, it's nasty, the button works fine. Unfortunately it's not possible to buy just the button rubber, you'll need to replace the entire assembly at over $100 (but you can DIY this so you save on labor).
Some people suggested cutting out a bicycle tire inner tube and repurposing that?
I wonder if it's interchangeable with the LS430 part, because for the LS, the button and the cover comes as separate parts, the cover itself is only $10 (84944-50010).
I called my local Toyota parts department and separately the same department under the Lexus brand, both of them quoted me the same price for the part.
I used a piece of bicycle inner-tube to make a new rubber seal. I did a pictorial "how-to" and posted it. Search the forum to find it. If you can't find it, let me know and I'll look for it and send the link.

That appears to be correct - good find! Much cheaper than replacing the entire switch.
Guys, everyone is making this complicated. They sell after market ones on amazon for like 20-25 bucks. I had the same issue. Took 10-15 minutes to replace. Once you remove the trunk cover there's two screws and a wire connector. Haven't had any issues. Here it is:
. I mean sure if you really don't want to spend it and just put another piece of rubber, be my guest.
Yes, like the rest of the fail quality control of Lexus during these years and even further, their rubbers and plastics melting is ridiculous. Mine would melt in warm weather. In colder weather especially winter, it would harden and it would be so difficult to press, the trunk wouldn't open half the time.

Nice find! This part was not available when I replaced my rubber. Instead, I would have had to replace the whole switch which I found on Amazon for $50. But, my original switch was working fine.
I found the most difficult part of the job was removing all the melted rubber from the switch. It was all gummed up, restricting the free movement of the switch. Removing the fluorescent green handle (inside the trunk) wasn't as easy as I expected either.
Thanks! I don't think I actually removed the handle. There's a thread somewhere on this forum where someone shows how to basically just reach in and replace it without removing much. Wasn't too difficult!
Here is a link to the thread. If you scroll down to the post from samathews, they show how to do it without removing the emergency cable, etc. Link

Thanks for the link. I read the post you referenced and it appears the earlier models don't have the flourescent green, internal release handle. Not sure what year this safety device became law, but my 2011 has it.
I just replaced mine with OEM part # 84945-50010. I got it from an online Toyota dealer and it was about $70.
After removing the exterior clips, you will encounter two plastic housings that are also clipped to the frame of the trunk. It is best to slide it out of the groove, but you can also carefully pull it so the plastic housing and clip come out as one piece (see pictures for details). You definitely don’t need to remove the trunk release and I used a small 10mm wrench to undo the two screws. After removing it, I used goo gone to clean up the mess around the area. Hopefully this new one doesn’t melt…
