Default 2004 LS430 Trunk Release Switch

The rubber boot on the trunk release switch located near the rear license plate has started to harden and curl for some reason, make it hard to press the switch to open the trunk. It's like s chemical got on the boot, anyway it needs replacement. I found part number 84944-50010 on a website which looked like it might be the switch cover, so I ordered one. The part that arrived is generally shaped like the advertised photo (below), but has no rubber portion (is all hard plastic) and looks to be the wrong part.

Does anyone have the correct part number for the trunk open switch boot located on the trunk (not the switch in the cabin). Appreciate any pointers.

Is this hard to replace? I think I have a broken trunk switch too, it just feels like a piece of hard plastic when you press it and nothing happens. I just use the remote or the button inside the cabin.

They look fairly similar you might have the switch not the pplastic cover.
The switch part number is 84945-50010

The plastic cover part number is 84944-50010

No idea, I figured get the part first. I imagine it's accessed from inside the trunk after removing the mouse fur on the deck lid.

That's it, they attached photos for 84945 to 84944. Hopefully the supplier will swap parts.

Well, I figured I would try a Chinese copy (below). Make just put the new boot over the old switch.
Amazon Amazon

Lexuspartsnow.com who sent me the misrepresented part left me hanging, will not be buying anything from them in the future.

I don't know why I couldn't find this thread before I just fell for this too. Ordered 84944-50010 and was shocked to see no rubber button. Probably because the parts diagrams provide no photos and the description for this part is 100% unhelpful. Ok, will return and ask for 84945-50010.
An yes, @dth , it was LexuspartsNow that misled me also with this photo, the only one I could find:
https://www.lexuspartsnow.com/parts/...944-50010.html

I ordered from Bell, simple fix, just annoying.

84944-50010 is a RIGID Plastic blanking panel that fills the hole where the Smartkey trunk button would be fitted if the original owner had opted for Smartkey.

84945-50010 is the Smartkey trunk switch with it's rubber cover.

Sorry, I am more confused than ever. 84944 a RIGID Plastic blanking panel that fills the hole where the Smartkey trunk button would be fitted if the original owner had opted for Smartkey.: blanking panel? It is not a switch itself? A way to eliminate the switch? I though 2004+ all had smartkey... You make it sound like an option, and if so, why change to this part?

If I can no longer press the rubber button in to open trunk, you are saying to get 84945-50010 as the switch, including the soft rubber part? Again, then, what i the purpose of the 84944 part? Thanks...

Sorry, should have read "hadn't opted for Smartkey"

I believe the basic model 04-06 didn't come with Smartkey and the 01-03 didn't have it except as an optional extra.
However the hole is there in all models so for those without Smartkey they fitted the blanking piece.

If yours has the Smartkey, then you need the switch.
