Whiny Power Steering???
Hey, my 2001es300 power steeringhas been kinda loud here lately. Making that yawing whine like it's low on fluid, but my fluid level was spot on. Any body else ever notice this? Even though it's not loud loud, I just started really paying attention to it lately.

Hello,
Is the fluid in the PS pump still original? In many cases it is being overlooked during regular maintenance, mine was still from the factory when I got the car, and the whine was quite noticeable.
I used Amsoil OEM ATF a little while back as per LeX2K recommendation and the steering feel was improved quite noticeably. The whine is still present, but you really have to look for it to notice, my car has more than 220,000 miles after all..
Take the PS reservoir off, placing a catch can under the lines, then turn the steering slowly left and right until fluid will stop coming out, then put the reservoir back in, fill it to the brim and turn the wheel lock to lock again, until the level would stop dropping, only then start up the engine, keeping a close eye on the level as it may drop quickly.
Hope this helps and best of luck!
