Default Would you change Pads with 50% life left??

So I bought new brakes (got a great deal) for my ES since it's been a little over 50k since the last pad change. Anyways I opened up all 4 calipers today and the pads were still at least 50% life left. I re-greased the slider pins and left everything else alone. I'm debating now if I should just change out the brakes or leave them alone for another 15-20K miles. I'm actually shocked how long the factory pads and rotors last.

Unless they are uneven, I would keep using them.

No they looked really good. The brakes were done at 95k miles and now I'm pushing 160k miles. How long do the pads last on these cars? I figured it had to be about time. I still might change them just because I bought them already.

It depends on the brand, and driving style. I would reference the owners manual, as a number to keep in mind, but may not be cost effective.

The only reason I would change pads like earlier in other wise good condition is if they are nasty organic pads on a newly acquired used car. Then I'd put in some ceramic ones to stop the damage and dust.

There's no set mileage for how long they last because usage and braking habits vary so greatly between drivers. The habit to get into is just checking them until you understand your car's wear pattern. Just peak at them with a flashlight when you rotate the tires, that's every 7,500mi for my ES (same as oil change so easy to remember).

My service records (previous owner) say new pads and resurfaced rotors at 95k done at dealership, so they are factory. I'm just used to wearing old brake pads at around 50k miles. I guess it's a good problem to have... Thanks again
