Default Cracked Radiator

Anybody replaced a radiator? What should it cost? Is there anything that will patch a two inch crack?
Should just replace it and not worry about it. Looks like a big project. Lots of connections.

Default Cracked Radiator

I would go to a radiator shop and have them replace the radiator! Why knock yourself out trying to patch and old radiator especially the fact that we're getting into the warm summer months.

Aftermarket radiators goes between $150-$250. However, the OEM cost double the price in Lexus Dealer. I have it replaced CND$350 (approx US$230) in one of my friend's repair ship.

A radiator from AutoZone for a 96 ES300 goes for $166 and has the LImited Lifetime Warranty. The connections to the radiator should be the upper and lower radiator hose and the two oil cooler lines from the trany.

EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS AT TOYOTA?1!!? RIP--OFF!!!! I shudder to think what it would be at lexus!!

In March of last year my ES had a one inch hairline crack in the top, plastic section of the radiator. I didn't know if plastic could be repaired, and since my car had high miles, I went with a whole new radiator. One shop gave me an estimate of $464. I later went to a radiator shop and had the old radiator and coolant removed, new radiator, clamps, and coolant installed for $326 including tax.

OEM Parts were never meant to be cheap considering the build quality.
