Engine immobilizer system
I have a lexus es300 2002 and my car won't start. My security light (icon with the key and the car) is blinking red. Is this because I need a new key and my car doesn't recognize this one to start it?
The buttons haven't worked on my key fob for years now and have always started my car just fine. Just now, my car is not starting.

Hello,
If you put your key in the ignition does the light stop flashing? Dont turn the key just put it in. If it stops blinking then its still recognizing it as your master key. It should start the vehicle. You could try possibly trying to reprogram your key search on here the instructions can be found.
