Only Key is locked in trunk!
Yeah it happened. I kept putting off making a spare and now this. I managed to unluck a door with a homemade fishing hook and set off the alarm, but the middle fold out in the backseat is locked! And the trunk button on the drivers side isnt working since the car thinks i broke into it.
Any other ideas? Do i need to bite the bullet and get at least a basic key from the dealership with no chip that opens the doors and trunk? I can't be sitting around and going over a million options help.

Does disconnecting the battery for a few minutes give the security system amnesia? I would hope Lexus would not charge too much to get a basic key made from your VIN. If you removed the seat bottom and back then you should be able to reach the manual trunk release or even grab the key.

I've done this before lol.
I tried everything to "trick" the car to use the trunk button but no dice.
If you remove the bottom seat then remove to top part of bottom seat you can get to the trunk. It's 4 bolts.
I never heard or saw a manual trunk release, where is it? I have a 99

the manual trunk release is that plastic handle looking thing I've seen it but never had to use it.
Yeah so your best best is to remove the rear seats, pull up the bottom cushion and move it out of the way, should reveal bolts the upper cushions, on the Camry, the side cushions needed to be removed to reveal the other bolts.
I haven't removed the rear seats on the ES but should be similar.
Last choice, is get a key cut from your dealer with the factory code, should work unless your locks were changed.
if you get a new master you can program the immobilizer with the foot dance method. I bought a valet key as a spare and programmed it fine too.

Thanks guys. I slept on it and figured i might as well get a spare made just in case i lose my master set. These are dealer prices. Are there no cheaper options? I really want a full alarm and key spare but thats way to much.
$66 for key to open doors but not start car
$95 to open doors and will start car. No alarm
$300 for full alarm and key

Time may not be on your side but the lowest priced keys I've found are at 1010keys in San Francisco. Find them on Ebay. Their keys are less than half the price you listed from the dealer.
Good luck,

If you have your key code you can ask nicely if they will be willing to cut it for you if you buy the keys.
Even if you don't have your key code, you can just go down to your dealer show your registration and ask them for it.

+3 on removing the rear seats. If its anything like the 4ES (which I think it is since its non-folding), follow this video for rear seat removal:
You can buy OEM used remote/key units off eBay and buy a case with a key blade and have the dealer cut it. It was $20 at my dealer to cut.
Stay away from the aftermarket stuff, I had one and it didn't work that well.
You can program the keys yourself using the pedal dance method. Procedure is the same as the GS and many Toyota's of this era:
Or you can use Techstream software:

Damn! I ended up paying $100 for a key with no alarm (non master) that will start car and open doors/trunk from the dealer. It sucks but i didnt have time to wait for something in the mail. Can you get OEM masters online for cheap?

I bought some parts from them last year and asked nicely if they would do it and sure enough they obliged, put the keycode in the comments on my order.
Did the foot dance to program the immobilizer, worked like a charm.
speedkar already posted the instructions so should be piece of cake.

So the spare key i had made from dealership did the trick. I just need to go back in with it and my master key to have it programmed so it can turn the car on. It sucks i couldnt have waited longer to get a cheaper one.
