Code P3045- What’s normal range voltage for alternator?
I read on here that low voltage could cause the P3045 camshaft sensor fault. I just checked and my voltage is right at 13.8 at idle. Is this ok or should I think about replacing the alternator to fix my code? Thanks for all your help!

Ok, so my course of action should be to try cleaning the sensor and if that doesn’t work, replace it? Besides removing the sensor, how can I discern which sensor I need autozone to get? They have three listed with different part numbers and widely different prices. My fault is sensor A bank 2.

I'm familiar with that code seems like a generic ECU code. I would look for things like melted wires going to the oxygen sensors, corroded battery cables, exhaust leaks. Any issues with the battery?

I’ve been under there looking around and haven’t found anything like the things you mention. Found one bad vacuum hose connection and fixed that, but that’s all. This code occurred about 40 miles after I put 15% ethanol gas in my car for the first time. It said it was safe for 2001 and newer cars. Is this a coincidence?

That's correct, though a new alternator in perfect health would likely be a LITTLE higher.
Rev it and make sure it gets above 14.2-ish and not over 14.6, because really it should operate in that range at any speed over idle. However, alternator issues manifest with other symptoms first so it's very much unlikely your alternator. I point this out as with that age, if it's still the original alternator, you do need to keep an eye on it and know how to evaluate it should it become suspect.
