A/C BLOWS HOT even after freon
i just bought a lexus 94 es300 and the ac blows hot air or the tempurature o?outside more like it and right now its like 110 degrees so the ac is blowing really hot , so i figured the system needed a recharge so i went to autozone and bought on of those self rechardge things and still blowing hot air
the compressor comes on and stays on can someone tell me whats going on or some clues?
could the system have been so empty that it just wasnt enough? i heard that if the compressor comes out that it isnt a recharge thing? maybe cabin air filter or a blockage somewhere?
help!
oh and the car only has 100000 miles on it

You can't just start putting refrigerant into the system and hope for the best, the problem has to be diagnosed properly. If you don't have at minimum a set of manifold gauges and some basic knowledge of A/C systems, then it is best to take the car to a professional.

A/C systems require proper equipment. They are not very DIY friendly.
Did you use a gauge? Or did you just add Freon without checking how much was in there first?

Eric The Car Guy has some really good videos about A/C systems, well worth watching. You will see that it is hardly a simple system to deal with, you HAVE to have the right equipment and know what you're doing.

Should have left the car alone. Those autozone stuff is okay for topping off, but that's about it. If you had a leak and there was no more refrigerant, then you just opened up a whole can of worms by adding some. If the system is empty, it can also mean the oil leaked out too. Running the compressor with little to no oil is just like running your engine with....no/low oil...
Bring your car to a shop and have them hook up the manifold gauge to see what both LOW and HIGH sides are doing. If the system is completely empty, then it needs to be vacuumed to check for leaks and pull out any moisture. Adding refrigerant to a system without having it vacuumed is a recipe for disaster. Air/moisture is very detrimental as you can form frost within the line and that will clog up the system.
