O/D Button not Working

Default O/D Button not Working

hey guys when i drove the ES today i noticed that nothing happens when i click the O/D button, i see nothing light up in the dash or any changes in the rpm's, any idears why this could be?

Sounds as if the button itself is defective. Try pressing and releasing it several times, and see if you can get the OD light to come on. (or at least to flicker

hmm i tried it a bunch of times without any luck, when is this button used anyways ive never had a car before with this option?

Another thing you may want to try is to drive at a steady 60 mph on a level road. No passengers, and AC OFF.

Note your RPM at that speed, and report back with your RPM reading.

hmm ok will try that tomorrow, i mean usually what could the culprit be a transmission related?

My thinking is that your OD does work, but you don't know it since you have no visual indication for a reason yet to be determined. Knowing however your RPMs at 60MPH will ascertain if your OD is engaged or not.

So let us know the results when you had a chance to try my suggestion.

well it turns out the od button works, i just pressed it yesterday and out of nowhere the light lit up for OD OFF then i treid it a few more times and it worked, i left it on and kept driving hehe, well im happy about that

Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead however the OD button is not working again, today i was on the freeway and was doing 2750 rpm's at 75mph. Does that sound about normal?
