Default Check Engine light/Trac light turned on..

Hello

I have a 2000 ES 300 with about 130000 miles on the clock. Oil changes around every 5000 miles synthetic. Just today the check engine light turned on and the Trac light as well. The car drives fine other than brakes needing to be replaced. I tried going to autozone but they cant read codes anymore. Any input would be appreciated, Thank you

Looks like your in Cali, Kragen can check the codes for you for free. It would be helpful to have the codes, so the guys and gals on here can help you out. There could be alot of reason for the CEL to come on and same for the Trac light. If you can, goto Kragen and get the codes and post them on here and someone will be able to help you. Take care.

Can anyone recommend a good indy for changing the O2 sensors, Im pretty sure those are the culprit... and how much would it run in total.

DIY possibility?

You need to find out the codes. It could be 100 different things other than the 02 sensors.

+1 JSM, without the codes you're in a canoe without the paddle!

Wow, sorry bro about Kragen. I didnt mean to give you wrong info. I live in Ventura County and the Kragens out here have checked my CEL before. Have you tried Pep Boys?

FYI when CEL comes on for Toyota cars, the TRAC OFF also comes on as well.
